Happy Nest homepage: a child walking through a poppy field, with the AW26 collection headline and a new arrivals card for newborns

Happy Nest is a kids boutique from Cluj that sells organic cotton clothing for babies and children, starting with the Swedish brand Villervalla. They came to us with a brand, a supplier and an autumn collection on its way. Everything between that and the first order was ours: design, a custom Shopify theme, the full catalog, tracking, ads and SEO.

A boutique, not a template

Andreea Ivan designed the store around the photography. Soft lilac and midnight violet, Lora headlines over Jost text, and layouts that let the clothes and the kids wearing them lead. Shop the look hotspots put the products straight onto the campaign photo, and editorial panels pair a short story with the piece it is about.

Shop the look section: two children in dinosaur print tops, with hotspots that open product cards for the top and the trousers
Shop the look: hotspots on the campaign photo open the exact pieces.

Shop by age section with four photo tiles: girls, boys, babies and newborns, each with its age range
Parents shop by age first, so the homepage does too.

A custom Shopify theme

The theme is written from scratch for Happy Nest. The theme editor manages content and the code manages design, so the team can change copy, photos and products every week without the brand drifting.

  • Filters, sorting and pagination that update in place, with sizes kept in numeric order.
  • Color swatches on every product card that swap to that color's photo, plus quick add without leaving the grid.
  • Named wishlists, a cart drawer with a confirmation toast, and personalized products with a message and thread color.
  • Back in stock requests for sold out sizes, a size guide that opens as a bottom sheet on phones, and a sticky add to cart bar on mobile.
  • Self-hosted fonts, with the Romanian ș and ț added where the stock fonts were missing them.

Three phone screens: the homepage hero, a product page with a sticky add to cart bar, and a two column product grid
Built mobile first, where most parents shop.

A catalog that imports itself

We set up the catalog from the supplier's own data instead of typing it in. Scripts on the Shopify Admin API read the delivery packing list, pull product details from the Villervalla shop, price each item from its recommended retail price in lei, create the color swatches and register the English translations. Products land as drafts for a final check, and the next delivery is a script run rather than a week of data entry.

On top of the products we built 14 collections by age, gender, category and season, each with its own banner and category copy.

Ready to sell on day one

A new store has no history, so search and ads had to work from the first visit. Every product carries structured data for Google Merchant Center: variants, age range, material, EU sizes, shipping and returns. Collections and pages have their own titles and descriptions, and thin pages stay out of the index. GA4 and Google Ads conversion tracking run behind Shopify's consent banner, styled to match the store. Loox reviews feed the stars on cards and product pages, and the footer carries the consumer protection links Romanian shops are required to show.

The challenge

A brand with no store, no catalog and no tracking, and a seasonal collection that had to be on sale while it was still the season. Design, development, data and marketing setup all had to be ready on the same day.

Our approach

One small team from first sketch to first order. Design and development ran side by side, the catalog was automated instead of entered by hand, and SEO, analytics and ads were part of the build rather than an afterthought.

Results

Happy Nest launched in October 2026 with the full AW26 Villervalla collection live: 556 product variants across 14 collections, in Romanian and English. A theme built for this brand alone, a catalog that restocks from the supplier's data, and tracking and product feeds ready for search and ads from the first day.
