Frequently asked questions
When do we need a custom app instead of a store?
When your pricing, customers or processes don't fit a standard store: B2B terms and price lists, subscriptions with custom rules, bookings, marketplaces, or operations spread across several systems. If Shopify or an existing app can do it well, we'll tell you.
Why Stripe?
Stripe covers payments, subscriptions, invoicing, tax and marketplace payouts in one platform, across many countries and currencies, and well-documented tools for developers. We've built on Billing, Checkout, Connect and invoicing many times, so we know where the edge cases are.
Can you work alongside our Shopify store?
Yes. A lot of custom commerce sits next to Shopify: private apps, checkout extensions, B2B portals or syncs with your ERP. Shopify stays the store, and the custom parts do what it can't.
How do you handle security and payment data?
Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch your servers, which keeps your card-security obligations small. We keep secret keys on the server, verify every webhook and give each customer access to their own data only.
Can business customers sign in with their company account?
Yes. We use WorkOS for single sign-on with identity providers like Okta, Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, plus directory sync so access follows your customer's own user list.
Can you move our subscriptions from another billing system?
Yes. We map plans and prices, move customers and payment details with Stripe's migration support, and switch over on a date that avoids double charges or gaps.
What does it cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on scope. Discovery maps the flows and agrees a first release, and you get a fixed price for it. Most projects launch a first version and grow from there.
Who owns the code and the data?
You do. The code lives in your repository, the database and the Stripe account are yours, and everything is documented for handover.
What support do you offer after launch?
We stick around. You get a 30-day warranty: if you find bugs, we fix them. After that, you can keep us on a monthly maintenance plan or book hours when you need them.
